How SFNS Members can post Events and News

Posted on April 27, 2018 by SFN-SingaporeMay 1, 2018

Central to the mission of SFNS is to coordinate neuroscience activities across the island. Preferably, this will be achieved by the collective contribution of Members, the Committee, and the institutional Representatives. For this reason, we have implemented software that will enable Representatives to notify all Members of upcoming Events and other News.

There are two key functions:

Events

Adding and editing Events is available to all Members. Simply log into your Member account, then go the the Events page. There will be a button labeled “Add New Event.”

Click on this button, and add the relevant information to create your Event. Note that Members cannot add registration or ticketing to Events, these features can only be added by site Admins. Email us if you need your Event to have registration and ticketing.

News

To add News and job adverts, you will need an Author account with the WordPress site. This will allow you to post items to the www.sfn.sg blog. Currently, the only people who have Author accounts are some Committee members, but in principle any Member could have this feature. Let us know if you would like this.

Eventually, Author accounts will be created for each Rep, and these can either be used directly by the Rep, or shared with their departmental admin support, who can post neuro-relevant events and jobs.

Note: There is a way for Members to post Events. “Yes, you can give members the ability to add events to your calendar. This would be done through Event Groups. You can find detailed directions on how to set this up in MembershipWorks > Help > Events > Setup Events > Allowing Members To Post Or Access Events.” \
