Ajay S. Mathuru
President
Ajay S. Mathuru has been SFN Chapter President since April 2021. He is an Associate Professor and Head of Studies for Life Sciences at Yale-NUS College. He has joint appointments at the Department of Physiology in NUS' Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, as well as at A*STAR's Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology.
Phua Siew Cheng
Secretary
Phua Siew Cheng was elected Chapter secretary in April 2021. She is an Assistant Professor and directs the Neuronal Signaling Lab at the Department of Biological Sciences, NUS.
Xu Sangyu
Treasurer
Xu Sangyu is the Chapter’s Treasurer. She is a research fellow at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in A*STAR.
Caroline Wee
Director of Seminars
Caroline Wee is the Director of Seminars. She is a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR, and was awarded the National Research Foundation Fellowship in 2020.
Sarah Luo
Director of Events
Sarah Luo is the chapter’s Director of Events. She is a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR, and is the recipient of Singapore’s National Research Foundation Fellowship in 2020.
Matas Vitkauskas

Matas Vitkauskas is the chapter's Newsletter Editor and Webguru. He holds a Bachelors' degree in Life Sciences from Yale-NUS College in Singapore. He is currently working at the Genome Institute of Singapore studying Parkinson’s disease in midbrain-like organoids using single-cell spatial-omics technologies in Dr. Jinyue Liu’s lab.
